Powerslide Phuzion Inline Skate Comparison
What Is Phuzion?
Phuzion skates balance cost, comfort, style, and performance; with options for casual skaters, fitness skaters, and those looking for an intense workout. Having so many options can make it confusing to the consumer, so IW is here to help.
Similarities
All have soft uppers with built-in liners (not removable), combined with what Powerslide calls the X-Shell. The shell is tried and trusted to offer strength and support, with liners that are comfortable for little to no need for break-in time. All models use a proprietary height-adjustable braking system (HABS) that prolongs the brake pad life, and the trinity frame mounting system. The winged mount under the ball of the foot adds stability and power during push-off. It also creates a channel for the wheels, lowering the skate for additional stability and control. Trinity frames are removable (and adjustable), making Phuzion boots compatible with any trinity mount frame. It is therefore simple if wanting to try a different wheel size and/or configuration later. The wheel size to start with will depend on the want for speed (large wheels), agility (short frames, small wheels), or simplicity if just starting out (small wheels, long frames).
Differences
Although there are many similarities, the details really do make all the difference. There's a lot going on with Argon, Krypton, Radon (Enzo), Xenon, and RFC (Roll For Change). Allow us to explain...
Argon
The most features, the most performance, and therefore the highest price point within the line. MyFit Recall Foam liners use a special memory foam that can mold to shape again and again. Argon boots are upgraded to a 45-degree micro-adjustable ratchet buckle instead of the standard Velcro strap to optimize fit. Retro-inspired nubuck & PU leather on the uppers adds support, stability, and more efficiently capture and transfer energy to the wheels.
Krypton
Standard PU liner, Velcro 45-degree straps, and power knit uppers with PU thermo welding outer to have a sneaker-inspired look. The blend now starts to tip toward performance, with more rigid boots to better transfer energy to the wheels.
Radon (Enzo)
Standard PU liner, Velcro 45-degree straps, and power knit uppers with PU Thermo welded reinforcements. The most casual (least firm) fitting boot with the primary focus being on comfort. Enzo models are four-wheel Radon skates.
Xenon
Standard PU liner, Velcro 45-degree straps, and nylon mesh uppers with PU thermo welded reinforcements to be snug and supportive. An even blend of both comfort and performance.
RFC (Roll for Change)
RFC boots are eco-friendly and made with recycled material and bamboo. Thoroughly tested to ensure durability and performance was maintained. The interior padding is made from recycled foam, with upper materials based on canvas, hemp, and cotton. Metal eyelets and hinge rivets are uncoated. There is no chemical link or PVC materials on any part of the skate. No print on the wheels and the frames are even made from 40% recycled raw, uncoated aluminum.
